Canonização

Canonização refere-se ao processo de estabelecer a canonicidade de textos bíblicos. Especificamente, há três acepções para cânon ou cânone: (1) a regra de fé em coerência com os livros bíblicos; (2) a lista de livros reconhecidos como inspirados para servir como fonte e norma provenientes de Deus para a instrução em sabedoria; e (3) o conteúdo textual dos livros canônicos reconhecido como legítimo.

A canonização ocorreu como um processo emergente e gradual, sem ser determinado por um único evento, um único conjunto de critérios e uma só autoridade. Antes, o processo de canonização foi uma interação complexa de vários fatores, incluindo debates teológicos, pressões sociais e interpretações individuais. Nesse processo, acanonização nem sempre foi perfeitamente consistente ou lógica, refletindo os debates dentro das religiões abraâmicas na busca e definir suas crenças e Escrituras fundamentais, bem como em seu uso cultual.
