Afeque

Afeque, em hebraico אפק, nome de vários locais na geografia bíblica.

1. Cidade na planície de Sarom por cananeia conquistada por Israel na área de Efraim. (Josué 12:18). Local onde os israelitas perderam a arca para os filisteus (1 Samuel 4:1; 29:1). Na era romana foi reconstruída por Herodes, o Grande, com o nome de Antipátride (cf. Atos 23:31). Atual Ras el-‘Ain.
2. Cidade cananeia de local incerto na região fenícia não capturada pela guerra de conquista dos israelitas (Josué 13:4).
3. Cidade cananeia dada à tribo de Aser (Josué 19:30), mas que não foi conquistada (Juízes 1:31).
4. Cidade transjordânia ou arameia, local de dois conflitos entre Israel e a Síria. Nesse local o rei sírio Ben-Hadade fugiu de Acabe, mas um muro ruiu sobre seu exército (1 Reis 20:26-30). Depois, Eliseu profetizou a derrota dos sírios por Joás neste local (2 Reis 13:17). Talvez seja o atual sítio de Fiq, próximo ao mar da Galileia.
